Congratulations to the Riders - this team deserved it, and their fanbase certainly does.

This was a very entertaining game, lots of fun to watch. The Riders were the better team for the vast majority - nearly flawless, outside of a handful of penalties.

The Als brought the fight, and even after Alexander re-aggravated his hamstring injury, there was still a sense that they could pull something off.

I haven’t been following the season very closely, but I have a basic familiarity with CFL. Are the Als still at McGill (I actually saw Johnny Football play there while in town for other reasons… he was “meh.”), is their ownership situation stable, and what kind of weird run did they go on to make the Grey Cup at barely over .500?

      They are indeed!

      is their ownership situation stable

As far as I know, but it’s not exactly my neighborhood.

what kind of weird run did they go on to make the Grey Cup at barely over .500?

When their starting QB is healthy, they’re possibly the best team in the league. For a lot of the season…he was not healthy.

I’ll answer what I can, maybe others can fill in the rest. I know we have an Als fan on here. The Als play at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, which is owned by McGill. I think it’s close to but not directly on/in the campus - but I’m not sure about that. The Als success given their record was partly due to the East (ie, Argos and Redblacks) being really weak this year. The Bombers crossed over and lost to the Als in the Eastern Semi-Finals

Mark Carney got a boo in the stadium when the jumbotron showed the first quick shot of Mark Carney during the anthem, no?

Down by a major and Alexander’s leg - things aren’t looking great for the Als right now but they’re still in it
