I wanted photo realistic games when I was younger, and now I get to enjoy playing them. I also enjoy playing 2d games. It turns out fidelity is just an artistic choice which does little to predict the quality of a game 🙄

Yeah I’m more complaining about the type of popup in general

I mean it’s not enough to make me lose respect for ifixit, that seems a little extreme for what amounts to whoever is making their website being a dumbass. These types of subscribe popups are incredibly obnoxious though and I can’t imagine the minuscule amount of subscriptions they gain are worth making the mobile experience so irritating. I’ve certainly never subscribed through one of these

That would obviously work with older dc fans but modern ones use pwm which iirc is a constant voltage just pulsed to varying degrees (thus pulse width modulation)

I think they’re assuming it’s a Samsung computer because it mentions phone link can connect to a Galaxy smartphone. Seeing as that’s the name of the program provided by Microsoft (which will connect to any smartphone) I’m assuming whatever ad copy this shitty llm ate to regurgitate this slop used a Galaxy phone as an example

I use rideshare constantly and in my experience most uber/lyft drivers are either immigrants, people between jobs, or retirees looking to make extra money/socialize.

I only mod it if it’s a terrible port (though usually I’ll just play something else)

Yeah beyond the obvious problems with latency it mostly comes down to trust: trusting them with your data, trusting them to have enough capacity and trusting to not enshittify in the future. I reserve that level of trust for close friends, certainly not companies and absolutely not bezos.

I still feel like it probably works better than trying to expand a flat mix. Center channel dialogue is a different issue imo, there should definitely be 2.0 mixes available for streaming content auto-downmixing will always be bad.

They also didn’t have much dynamic range, it’s much easier to compress the range than expand it
