There is the public modlog if that’s what you’re looking for in terms of mod actions?
I’ve toyed with making zippy’s whole action log public but it requires a lot of tweaking to make sure sensitive stuff is hidden, and I just haven’t had the time!
We do have an introductory post but it probably needs a lot of work at this point. Its on the to-do list!
The problem is that people tend not to read it… If only I could force them to read and acknowledge 😅
Yeah Zippy absolutely is: https://github.com/Demigodrick/community_bot
Anyone is free to use any of the code. PRs to help expand it/make it better are always welcome too 😂
Yeah there’s a reasoning section on our legal page within our defed policy: https://legal.lemmy.zip/posts/defederation_policy/
You can also click the instances link on the bottom of the ui and go to blocked instances- they should line up (although one of the links doesn’t exist anymore so it’s reminded me to remove it!)
Yes, and we have done before!
In terms of a complete defed, one of the founding principles for lemmy.zip was not to just block other instances based on personal politics or beliefs (unless the other instances were doing something illegal). Rather it’s a gateway to the wider fediverse, and there are tools for people to instead control their own feeds (I.e. a user can defed themselves from another instance to a degree).
.ml also has a lot of large communities on it that I’d be hesistant to block until they’re moved away.
(I personally block the lemmit bot, I’m not opposed to a defed if they’re just creating spam from that instance)
New users might not be aware of the tools available (or even want to take the time to use them) so it might help lemmy growth to have some blocks in place at account creation - and then if people want to explore that content, they can choose to remove those blocks.
I am also not opposed to banning x links - appreciate wider feedback on this though.
There’s a third-party tool you can usually use: https://lemmyverse.link/
So pop the url of the post on the home instance in, and you get https://lemmyverse.link/sh.itjust.works/post/31943808
Once you’ve set your home instance, it will divert you to the home instance’s post.
Unfortunately there isnt a way that i know of that lets you do it in lemmy. I think adopting sharing links via lemmyverse.link is the way forwards at the moment.
It doesn’t work with frontends sadly though :(
I can only count to FOOOUUURRRRR
Fixed! (Sorry!)
Hopefully they reversed the decision. It was quite a fun shooter with some cool abilities. I’ll do some digging and see if they’re gone then, because I’d probably be back in for that price.
At some point in the last few years I’ve started to physically feel 112.
Played a fair bit of this when it was on steam - then they pulled it to relaunch with NFTs (iirc) so I never went back :(
Was good fun when it was popular.
Slightly delayed but underway :)
On a personal level I’m not fussed if people use local storage or offsite - i too can’t ever see catbox images so that’s the only host I have a problem with.
Thanks, imgur is already bypassed anyway so i will take a separate look at that. Not sure what the issue is so I’ll jump on a desktop and check it out ASAP.
In terms of the reddthat one, can you access reddthat directly? Does this post work for you?
Hey, thanks for the heads up! In the first thread, is it working again for you? Seems to be working again for me now, but we definitely got timed out a few times yesterday on a few sites, so I am keeping an eye on it.
On the second link, I’m not sure what you mean sorry. I can maximise the thumbnail in the post on the default UI (are you using an app?). There might be some weirdness taking place with a reddthat image on ani.social post being proxied to us! But it seems OK from my end - are you able to screenshot what the issue is for you?
Thanks, I appreciate the report :)
I really enjoy this game, but the AI can range from tactical genius to “stand still while being shot”.
Still, a solid 7/10 and worth it for cheap.
I would counter and suggest that Lemmy implements a “default block” system that admins can set on their instance, i.e. the 3 you’ve mentioned, plus any others they want. When the account is created, the default blocks are applied (either instance or communities or ideally flexibility to add both).
Users can then choose to unblock these if they want to engage with that content without moving instance.
While portability is kind of a feature of the lemmyverse, your posts don’t come with you so likely people wouldn’t want to move off the “default” instance, which would create another problem with centralized instances.
You can ask your site admin to add the friendica.world url to the blocked url list in the site settings. I’m like 90% sure it blocks the pms coming through when they inevitably create new accounts
