You responded from the wrong alt with a series of three logical fallacies.
Was it organizing when we created hexbear, funded it, and hashed out the rules together?
Is education part of organizing?
I find your comment laughable, particularly because you’ve flaunted your PhD in your username.
You may speak to me as a moderator and in private. I’ll provide an example, nothing more, and only under the condition that you don’t subsequently bother me with whatever it is you or anyone else thinks about it.
I’ll help in this limited fashion only because you’ve solicited and also sit in a position of authority. If I had the resources to really give a fuck about this then I’d already have registered an account and composed a post.
Edit: Regardless, I will disengage from this thread entirely.
Edit 2: As expected, the “moderator” didn’t bother to message me.
Edit 3: The moderator has now messaged me. I lacked patience.
I agree that right now hexbear is mostly full of shit and that it’s unlikely anyone is currently organizing there. For example, I just said that above but you didn’t bother to read and think before speaking.
I’m glad we’ve now this common context. But, I fear what qualifies as a “discussion” to someone who starts off so poorly.
Even someone with a relatively sane and informed post history such as yourself can’t handle the softest of criticism without mockery such as,
New site tagline just dropped
Then, the vanguard usually defects.
I’ve seen it all before. And, I’ll see it all again.
Thank you.
I was there on reddit and at the beginning of hexbear. I thought about coming back. But, right now hexbear is tolerating a culture that equates good faith disagreement with a personal attack, that makes shallow judgments, that’s far too ready to attack without wisdom. Good faith discussion with a hexbear user appears to be the exception, not the rule it once was.
Over the decades I’ve followed the vanguard from movement to movement as each scales and then fails. I’d perceive this as the beginning of the end. But, none of the other movements began with such sound ideology. Recovery may be possible here where it was not elsewhere.
I may once again join you. But, not today. I don’t have the resources to invest what I believe is the bare minimum required to serve the community.
They could avoid taxes on the proceeds with the deal of the art.
What free software allows me to difeffrentiate the subject from the background as you’ve done?
Adobe PS Andoid let’s me do it but wants a subscription to save the work. I’d guess GIMP does it but also isn’t available for Android.
As art this is brilliant, even if perhaps by accident: It’s a pun with three meanings as perceived by three very different audiences.
They’re thinking about demanding that billionaire-owned media outlets tell us what’s going on.
Instead, I suggest we start buying more guns and killing more CEOs.
How is this made?
Drill, jigsaw, trim router, and then the tight corners by hand with a chisel and sandpaper?
I read this then looked at it again. Now I kinda like it. The choices make much more sense. I’ve never experienced such a rapid shift in aesthetic preferences before. I don’t know what else to say except, Thank You.
I’ll share a little more awesome, then.
My wife and I rented a rental property using a process where neither the landlord or ourselves used a computer. We saw it advertised in the local weekly newspaper, drove by, and the landlord was cleaning. She hadn’t advertised anywhere else. She asked about criminal history and jobs. But, she didn’t perform background or credit checks. Only after we signed the lease did she ask to take pictures of our government-issued identification. We paid cash for the deposit and first month.
I’m brown. Yesterday, I was moving into a new place and asked a Trump-hat wearing, ex-military boomer what day was trash day. He gave me an explanation of all the good and bad of the neighborhood, told me to use his trash bin this week, and invited my wife and I to dinner. When we showed up his wife asked why we didn’t bring our dog because he’s a member of our family.
Many things I thought I understood about others have recently been nuked by experiences.
Probably about 14 beaver × days of labor and an assortment of free and easily recyclable rocks, trees, and mud. In the US we pay our mentally handicapped about food server wage and heavily discriminate against undocumented workers. Even though it’d cost us $1.2 million to do it ourselves, the best we can do for these beavers is about three-fiddy.
They were ready to censor content to enhance profits. Then, for reasons unknown the trigger was pulled prematurely.
This process failure is further evidence of the presence of a mature process. The previous statement is, by itself, circular reasoning.
I’d say I’m an artist. But, not in a traditional sense. I see that many others said about what I said. And, I don’t want you be discouraged.
When I’m creating something it’s rarely very original. Others have already figured out how to “speak” to others with their art. My art is usually a copy of another’s idea that I’d tweaked. Or it’s an amalgamation of several ideas that I thought would work well together.
But, sometimes the point of creation isn’t to speak to others. Or, perhaps I’m not saying what they’d like to hear. I think this is what’s happened here. No one faults your workmanship. They’re just recognizing that you weren’t thinking about them when you created it while also finding no fault with that choice.
I encourage you to create and share again. This time, make a very conscious choice of who is your audience. Attach no guilt to a hypothetical choice to speak a language very few will understand.
It’s MAGA, neolibs, and now hexbear.
.ml never responds to my attempts to register.
So, lemmygrad, what’s up? I’m assuming that because most of lemmy thinks you’re “tankies” that you’ve been demonized for setting a high bar for good faith discussion, that the user base likes to think before speaking.
