  • Exactly. I dabble in competitive assessment and the amount of times weve got competitors data because they didnt flatten a file is astounding. The one we try every time with moderate success is checking every picture to see if you can “uncrop” it. So many times the rest of the picture is actually in the file and the crop is just for display purposes. Most of the time the rest of the photo is useless, but ill never forget the time we got the whole process map for their upcoming production schedule

  • I have to disagree with the group interview part. There are definite uses for it, especially when you work on something that absolutely demands collaboration. You can pretty quickly see who will dominate a discussion or try to do everything themselves, and who will give everyone a fair shake. If the company cares about their culture and not just raw talent, they can learn a lot from group interviews. It also helps if youre hiring A LOT of people.

    My company hires 100+ college graduates every year. Group interviews are an essential part of the process. I still work with some of the people in my group interview from 15 years ago

  • This is a thing i learned having girl kids. They still mean you brush away from your scalp, but start at the bottom.

    Go a few inches up from the tip and brush down. When thats done, move up again, repeat.

    This gets the knots out of your hair instead of pushing them down then giving you a massive rats nest at the tip of your hair. It really does make the process so much easier and my kids complain so much less

  • Have you seen it?

    It gets pretty spooky. They’re are some creatures that are scary, some mood lighting that gets dark. Theyre are chases, and people being stabber and killed with snake venom. While theres no gore/blood, the themes are still there. That kind of thing makes it PG

    I used to watch twitch a good bit while i was doing other things. It was great to have on while doing dishes or cleaning up.

    I remember trying again in the not too distant past. I got hit with like 5 ads to start the stream. Thought that was going to be is as long as i stayed there… NOPE. Got 5 more ads like 5-10 minutes later. Shut it down and never looked back.

  • I would say trying to cook 3x faster isnt a surface temp 3x higher, but the rate of heat transfer is 3x faster. Because then your laat step is backwards.

    Q = h a dT

    If you just calculated H goes up 1.69x, then dT doesnt need to go up MORE, it needs to go up LESS. A higher HTC increases the rate of heat transfer. Which… now you need to recalc your free conv HTC because temp changed. But if it didnt…

    3Q = 1.69h a 1.78DT

    Old DT was 260, now its 463, which is an ovev temp of 503F

    Edit: this is a transient problem we’re trying to reduce to a steady state calculation with pretty poorly defined requirements. Sounds like a typical day at work for me lol
