I was just recently shopping around for services that provided unlimited, anonymized (read: not “you-[service]@masked”) options. Surprisingly, none exist for $0 besides the nearly un-discussed Ironvest free plan (maybe it’s not available for new accounts now).

This other option is great, provided they manage to stick around for long enough! I was wondering if an instance of Addy powered by donations was around

I find that having my own domain would just create the same problem all over again plus a couple more (read: registering for and maintaining that domain, especially while trying to do that privately)… I appreciate the clarification though, the fact they give you a free account in conjunction with a forwarding service of my choice is thoughtful at least.

Still a feature I can pay for and have paid for, if they ever felt like expanding the domains they provided.

I personally prefer addresses that don’t share any identifying information with each other, since those are easier to correlate. E.g. degen-channel5 and degen-baddragon could easily be correlated by somebody who happens to have both lists side by side, and based on the service, guess how to spam you in new and creative ways

My ideal setup is [random_characters]@[service], where there is zero correlation besides the fact I use the service to begin with. It doesn’t look like port87 offers that, which is a real shame

Being LLMed is not itself bad, although I would have rewrote the site text at least, but GamersNexus is very Anti-GenAI. They trash it every chance they get. I assume GamersNexus had nothing to do with it, so whoever made it should really think about what they did here.

If the author assumes GamersNexus has nothing to do with it, why drag their name into it? It’s completely possible somebody uses/tolerates AI but doesn’t like surveillance.

It’s always really cool to see something that can be hosted from your phone, including presumably an old one that’s been in a drawer for years until now. Especially because hosting through Tor has some little conveniences out of the box, like “how do I access this anywhere that has the Internet” or “how do I keep from registering or exposing my IP address”.

I’ll admit it probably needs an audit before I take it too seriously, but so far so good.

They’ve been itching for more releases to push more AI updates for a while. I wish I was exaggerating. Here’s three examples of AI features being tacked onto bugfix releases:

(For those who don’t know, bugfix releases only change the final part of the version number and are meant to fix bugs, while feature updates are meant for larger releases and tend to introduce them.)

The biggest thing I’m missing is an easy way to navigate to common places. Like home, for example. There’s no quick button for it, no widget or shortcut I can add to my home screen, and having to search my favorites for “home” is a little unintuitive.
