  • I finished my second playthrough of Drova - Forsaken Kin (wanted to see both of the camps + experience the new content added with the last patch) somewhat recently and it gave me the itch to go back and replay the first two games from the Gothic series. I’m already done with Night of the Raven and making my way through the first game now. Getting them to run smoothly on Linux was a bit of a process but other than that they still hold up incredibly well, at least in my incredibly biased view.

  • I would take a Citrine over a Wisp any day, 90% DR is far better than the little bit of extra health Wisp can give and her fire rate buffs are more often than not more annoying than helpful, it makes your ammo economy absolutely awful and turns everything into a bullet hose. Citrine’s energy and health orbs are always useful, especially now when so many people run some sort of Equilibrium effect and her 4 can allow you to red crit with ANYTHING! I wish I saw her more often, she’s probably the support frame I’m most happy to see in my squad.

  • Big reveal about Miko’s dad being able to see spirits in life, explains why he is so chill with whatever the horse demon thing is that is protecting their household. I really like how it shows the spirit being clear even when he’s not wearing glasses, it shows that spirit vision doesn’t rely entirely on sight but something more.

Citrine is getting a new Deluxe skin soon which will hopefully motivate people to actually farm her cause I never see this frame played. I genuinely seen more Oberons in PUBs than Citrines! Granted, I’m guilty of that myself but that’s mostly cause this frame is a fantastic support and I play this game solo 98% of the time. She’s really damn good! Her 1 can sustain even the greediest builds with the showers of health and energy orbs it generates, her 2 takes the glass-themed 90% DR Gara has and makes it incredibly convenient to maintain it on your entire team, her 3 is a slow but still decent primer and her 4 is a CC with a dmg boost that still applies it’s crystal growth debuff even on Overguarded enemies! I know we’re in a shield gating meta but as a die-hard health/armor tank I’m always happy to see a Citrine, 90% DR and free HP regen as well as infinite health orbs to supercharge my Arcane Blessings!

For some reason I thought I already covered Temple around the time of their release. I don’t have much to say about them, it’s been two months since they released and I still haven’t farmed them as both their kit and their theme are completely uninteresting to me. They seems rather good with Lizzie being a good old Ignis Wraith but on steroids but they do nothing my stable of old reliables can’t already handle and the rockstar theme is not my thing.

  • I still stand by what I said in the original Equinox’s weekly warframe: I like the concept of what this frame is but not necessarily the execution. A DPS/support frame that can switch between both kits with a press of a button is a very interesting idea, but the way it was executed just doesn’t work. Most people who still use Equinox will just use Maim to build up a big AoE nuke over and over, or to put enemies to sleep with Rest. I think what this frame misses is some incentive to switch modes, something like a bar that builds up as you do things that each form encourages. Killings things, Raging them or having them in your Provoke aura range would build it up in Day form while sleeping enemies, Pacifying them or healing allies with Mend would build it in Night form. When casting Metamorphosis you would get some sort of buff depending on how high you managed to build up your bar in the other form. Still allows you to just camp one form if you wish, but now you have an actual reason to play both sides of Equinox instead of just focusing on one.

  • Yeah, he really only shines when played solo and in missions where you get to stay still and have loads of enemies come to you. The various iterations of defense or survival are where he is most fun to play, I would never bring him to an exterminate, assassination, etc. Is he better than the Torid/Furis Incarnon? No, but the Torid/Furis have better KPM than about 70% of DPS Warframes so there is that.

  • Good places to put the pillars are whenever enemies tend to clump up without much room to wander off and with cut of LoS, the most annoying part of his whole kit is the Radiation procs, he wants enemies to be bunched up together but rad procs make them wander off, as well as stopping new enemies from wandering into the pillars as they stop and shoot at their irradiated teammates instead. Moving them around every now and then can be a good idea, tag a new group while the old rad procs expire and the enemies group up again. It’s really annoying that his kit has such an anti-synergy in it but his whole identity is radiation focused so not much that can be done other than reworking rad procs again.

  • Your range is good but your power strength is lacking, you probably want to hover around 200% (Molt Augmented helps a lot). He’s EXTREMELY tile dependent, I wasn’t joking when I said he’s a tower defense frame. You really need to plan where to put down his Pillars for maximum killing efficiency, with the augment they are what does most of the work and your beam is just kind of there to enable their functionality, you don’t even need it to actually hit things. He’s far from a top frame, you ain’t competing with Khora or Saryn for KPM, but the augment actually made him into a solid enough AoE frame with a rather unique playstyle which is cool!

  • Pretty much any of the tanky frames makes this mission much easier, even good old Rhino which you probably already have. Just make sure your energy economy is good enough to spam Iron Skin for a while even with no energy orbs and you can breeze through any damage the enemies do. Laetum should absolutely obliterate both the minions and the Wolf itself, at least it did for me when I did the alerts. What’s your build/evolutions?

  • Been playing Warframe on Linux since 2020 when I made the switch, used to be you had to use a specific launch flag to make the game have audio and either plug in a controller or fake having one or the game would crash after around 5min. Thankfully such tweaks haven’t been necessary for years now and nowadays Warframe (and most games) just work. Things have gotten so good I rarely even check protonDB for compatibility before buying a game now!

  • I know it’s a manga about dragons but I still wonder where all this ice is coming from. Is she sucking out the moisture from the surrounding air? Using her own body’s water supply? I feel like that would dehydrate her incredibly quickly so maybe a mixture of both? The answer is probably ‘dragon magic’ but I’m still curious about the deeper physical implications of these powers.

  • Easter is almost here so I thought I would bring back the bunny frame! I admit, I never liked Ivara. She’s my least favorite of all the invisibility frames. Her kit encourages gameplay that’s just way too slow for my tastes. I think Cyte-09 does the stealthy marksman role much better, his kit is far more engaging and effective than Ivara’s. She used to be the queen of Spy and Conservation but she’s been usurped by Perspicacity Wukong and Rest&Rage Titania for both. Her bow, even with the exalted changes, remains unimpressive. All she has going on for her is Dashwire+Navigator shenanigans and using Noise+Sleep arrows to put entire tilesets to sleep, a funny but not very effective tactic.

  • Nourish/Roar are the boring but solid options, even with lowered power strength they still provide a considerable damage boost. A good alternative (and my preferred option) is Lycath’s Hunt from Voruna, with Equilibrium this completely solves any energy issues you could possibly have and enables the use of Arcane Blessing to give Gara a rather considerable tankyness increase. You can also add Health Conversion to give that large health pool you got an extra layer of defense to make Gara VERY hard to bring down, so long as you keep on killing to make the health orbs happen.

  • Gara’s already impressive nuking capabilities have been augmented even further with the Exalted melee changes! Her Shattered Lash is now a nuke itself, no longer needing to rely on her 1+4 combo to massacre crowds. All that on top of having a 90% DR with a stacking damage aura that she can share with her teammates! Very solid frame that, like Zephyr, is woefully underplayed for how powerful she is.
