Technology@lemmy.world•Nvidia plans heavy cuts to GPU supply in early 2026English
14·13 days agoNah gaming doesn’t even make a dent in their revenue. Gaming demand means nothing to their supply, demand and pricing.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I'm new to lemmy, came from reddit. What's the lemmy etiquette like? How different is it from reddiqutte?
1645·1 month agoOne thing to note is more often people here reply with genuine comments and in good faith. There is also a lack of clever snarky comments and baiting due to the lack of karma system.

News@lemmy.world•Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever and it’s costing the economy
11·1 month agoOne of the things the article says is that “most people want newer phones” (if they could afford it). Do y’all feel that way?
I think I wouldn’t switch my 4 year old device even if someone gave me a new one for free. Just the hassle of changing to a new phone is not worth it when the new phone isn’t that much better. I’m just so over “tech”. I don’t have that excitement of new gadgets anymore.

News@lemmy.world•Weapons makers have 'conned' US military into buying expensive equipment, Army Secretary says
2·2 months agoDepending on when it was inflation could drive their costs up 3-5% over a year. When your margins are basically fixed by the govt at 12%, it makes sense to cover as much cost as they can.
The whole incentive structure is messed up because the govt “runs” defense companies like they are state owned without actually just making them state owned, or just letting them actually be private.
