Strong performances in the opening two rounds of the season by George Russell have been drowned out by the noise surrounding his former team-mate and his new one

It’s been unfortunate that he hasn’t been in many battles so far this season, but as long as he’s in the podium race, those battles will come on their own, and we’ll see more of him on TV. I don’t think anybody disagrees that he’s a good driver, the TV feed just mainly tries to find battles for position - as it should.

Agreed! We’ve had a good decade of the TV only following the top 2 drivers who are 3 secs per lap faster than the rest of the field and have no contest whatsoever. Whilst there was plenty of battles to be had further back in the field.

I think last year we had some race where we saw Verstappen for lap 1 and then not see him till the last lap. I prefer the TV focus on the action most of the time. Although sometimes we get 4 replays of somebody on fresh tyres overtaking using DRS for place 14 or something. But it’s still better on the whole.

For sure! I wonder how many people in the community remember the Schumi days of watching a Ferrari bomb around the track all alone for 2 hours. Thrilling. Really.
