I would love to see a proper reboot with new main characters, new story lines, etc, but where Mulder is the smoking man, and Scully has the director level position.
No, it is imperative that they keep retreading the existing formula and include lots of call backs that fans will remember /s
This would be a great way to balance cameos with a fresh new story TBH, and it sounds like something Gillian Anderson is open to!
They must pass it to another UK ginger. Can we campaign for Karen Gillan?
This is gonna be “diverse” so IDK if it’ll happen. I feel like black duo leads are more likely to be what we end up getting.
I wouldn’t mind if it doesn’t feature Mulder and Sculley at all, and has a much smaller focus on aliens, and less mytharcs. Either way I like the idea of new characters and new stories. There a lot of more recent material in technology to delve into as great potential for exploring a lot of newer social norms, lifestyles, gender identities, internet cultures, ideologies, and more through a supernatural lens
I just think like, Mulder as the “smoking man”, where its only ever in the shadows and never really explained. Skully only ever like, helicoptering in once in a while to be like “this didn’t happen and you never investigated this”, and the new team being like “what the fuck”.
Idk. It would really tie the manner of the first series together.
I hope the reboot is full of conspiracies about DOGE, Elon, and Plantir.
What about Mulder fans?
Please, for the love of God, just keep Chris Carter away from this or it won’t stand a chance.
I read this article about it:
From what’s included here, it doesn’t sound like he will be very involved.
