The White Man’s Burden with fake commie characteristic!

Brah, “touch grass bla bla” is pretty stale by this point.
Btw, it’s winter in the northern hemisphere!

Totally!
They don’t look at you and see a demagogue who is roleplaying online, oh no.
It’s funny how you talk big about the “global south” and “actually-existing socialist states” and yet you have a very orientalist and honestly racist worldview.
You think people in Cuba or say Vietnam are idiots who can’t see through basic bullshit.

On Piefed you get the most active communities in search (using similar metrics/ranking systems as reddit), it makes a lot more sense than on Lemmy which ranks search by sub numbers as opposed to MAU/WAU (so you get a lot of dead communities as #1 on the Lemmy WebUI).

The communities are all connected. It doesn’t really matter how you access them.
Perhaps someone else can highlight a piefed instance with a WebUI option similar to old Reddit.

I moved to Piefed ~6 months ago (after about a year of Lemmy), so I am not part of this wave (although I think there was a mini-wave when I joined), that being said, welcome to all newcomers!
Shameless self-promotion; if you like gaming, check out the sidebar of this community:
It links to a bunch of active gaming communities, both general/mainstream and indie focused.

Bold words coming from a supporter of russian genocidal imperialism!
And please don’t play dumb! We both know the overwhelming majority of tankies only speak English and at absolute best may have visited Europe for a week 20 years ago (let alone Cuba or China).

Same network as Lemmy (i.e. Lemmy content is viewable in Piefed and vice versa as per this little discussion).
Voyager supports Piefed just fine:
https://f-droid.org/packages/app.vger.voyager/ (I believe there is an iOS client too)
Just register on whatever Piefed instance you like.

Hahaha, I use Piefed, I am assuming on the Lemmy side it cuts off “title” into “tit”.
Move to Piefed. I believe blahaj has a Piefed instance.

The sad thing is that on some level indie games do get pushed out by shovelware on a certain level.

Like with everything in life, it depends on the reviewer.
I would argue most experienced, professional reviewers know how to review in a diplomatic manner that highlights interesting elements, while warning about weaknesses.

Very cool, love the 90s vibes.

This looks very cool, I just hope the puzzles aren’t too convoluted.

I believe SimCity 2013 was the last EA game I played. I even pre-ordered two copies (one for myself and one for my brother).
They basically committed fraud by knowingly misrepresenting the nature of their product. The early promo videos pitched a complex non-statistical, agent-based simulation. That was of course de facto discarded and the whole game was a dysfunctional attempt at making a “live service” style multiplayer game in genre that’s in many way fundamentally a single player experience.
Paradox feels marginally better than EA these days.

I used to be a big fan, not so much for their Grand Strategy games (I’ve played CK2, Victoria for about ~15 hours each and it didn’t click), but because they worked with Colossal Order , the creators of Cities in Motion (upon which Cities: Skylines is based).
They really have become a European EA.

Blendo Games is one of the original “PC silver age” indie developers.
Atom Zombie Smasher is a lot of fun and it has great stylization that is unique.
I also really like Thirty Flights of Loving.

I’ve play Ostriv a lot.
The current build is very playable. There are many 1.0 release games that are in a far worse state (even with post release patches).
I would just try it out if I were you. The game is a lot of fun as it is.

I am a big fan of Timberborn, but if we go all pedantic about it, Timberborn’s flood mechanics aren’t all that realistic.
A game that came somewhat close to realistic flood mechanics was Pharaoh/Cleopatra (1999/2000). Even though it used an abstract/statistical model (due to the technical limitations of the time), it felt a lot closer to reality than Timberborn even if there were some gamey elements like how well you respected Osiris.

I’ve been meaning to do a New Vegas replay, but the 2 hour modding process is a big turn off and I am not going to play it without mods (been there, done that, no thank you).
You’re so close to getting! ;)
I knew that tankie knew exactly what I was saying and was playing dumb:
