The Reddit blackouts are what motivated me to jump ship from to lemmy (beehaw). I was already a “radicle lib” but lemmy gradually exposed me to more and more hexbear takes. I eventually ditched lemmy and slowly started only visiting hexbear which is what truly radicalized me.
So yes, we will attract annoying libs, but every so often we will radicalize some comrades.
There really should be a “no-politics” (actually communist) lemmy for hobbyists that the inevitable redditers can land on and slowly de-indoctrinate on.
But I’m not signing up to do it, it sounds incredibly tiring.
