Had a conversation about healthcare with this older coworker of mine yesterday that was basically this.

“Canada Insulin only costs you $20, I don’t understand why we can’t have that here.”

“Because they have socialized medical care.”

“Right but I don’t get why the prices are so high…”

“Because we don’t have socialized medical care. Canada negotiates the price and they want it low. No one is doing that here.”

“Uhg sure but someone has to do it here… They can’t just charge whatever, it only costs like a $1 to make…”
