All the good things rolled into one there!

There’s a kfc ad where the party goers are dancing and eating at the same time. I’ve never done that even while pissed. Not that I’m aware of anyway.

I do a GREAT awkward shuffle with a doughnut in my hand as I discovered at the last wedding I attended.

            😂

I mean we’ve all done a little happy food dance from time to time but these idiots were full on raging with a drumstick in hand. No one loves kfc that much.

Also it’s always a drumstick. Never a shitty breast or micro wing.

I dunno. I train with some islander lads, that would dance with food. Not stereotyping, they’re just happy party people that like to eat.

                😂

There’s that joke about a van load of kiwis going through the drive thru and the driver orders a bucket, a few sides and 1.25Lt Pepsi and then turns around in his seat and says “ok kids. What do you guys want”?

                Turns out it’s actually true.

Had a great time in Melbourne. The Jurassic World exhibition was a lot of fun. Took little one into the city and the National Art Gallery which she enjoyed.

But more importantly, Slurpees were a hit and she is more convinced than ever to move back to Melbourne.

Boardies bum seam repair survived (to my surpise)! No moons, and the tape didn’t stick to the no no region.

Guessing the salt water won’t be good for the adhesive though.

    And yet another wave:

First day of the new job. I’m going to approach it with zero expectations.

One of the first things I’m going to do is login to everything on the work pc. Even if I’m just browsing aussie.zone, manager logic is I’m being productive if I’m on the computer, you’re only slacking off on your phone

If anything they seem normie on the boring side. Every workplace likes to think they’re a bit quirky and messed up but this is standard from what I’ve seen

It just feels a bit weird to get my head around this could be long term. Having just come out of a contract I keep approaching jobs like they’re a temporary thing

My initial impression is I could see myself working here long term as long as the day to day doesn’t suck. And it may not be too bad

Keep in mind that many IT departments can see everything you do on your computer. Your saved passwords will be stored in the Directory server.

I used to use Firefox for any personal stuff I was doing on my computer and I would use Edge and Chrome for work-related. (Firefox was also faster because it wasn’t being bogged down with AI bullshit).

Our IT department remotely uninstalled Firefox.

I always keep that in mind with work computers. Whilst they can see everything you do, I also figure they need to be looking to know. So whilst your traffic is all being tracked, you need to be doing something dodgy to grab their attention as well

thats just it, no new injury or anything like that I’m aware of. So I figured getting assessed isnt a bad idea.

Getting assessed it a great idea! In my early 20s I had months of chronic exploding head migraines, auras, blindness, vomiting from pain. Had an MRI and CT scan with nothing there. Dr gave me a big fat script for codeine - I understand why people get addicted to it, let’s put it that way.

Determined it was stress induced from living with my unmedicated schizophrenic mum 😂 haven’t had them like that since I moved out and went NC. There so many factors that can cause migraines, so getting checked out is always a fantastic idea!

Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious!! 💜💜

Good plan. I’ve had MRIs, CTs, a lumbar puncture and all sorts of fun. And regular eye tests are worthwhile- apparently weird eye pressure can manifest in interesting ways.

They’ve never found anything useful on all my tests but it’s always good to know it’s ‘just’ migraine and not a brain tumor or something exciting like that. And there are better migraine drugs coming out now.

We had a few people pull out of their booked windows 11 upgrade appointments. Told my team we should still push it as an update anyway and when they complain shrug and say “sorry, pulling out isnt always effective”.

    So here’s the gossip.

One of the remaining 3 (of which i am one) account managers resigned.

So his clients get divided up between me and the other one.

    Yay.

First day on the new job was uneventful and went pretty much as expected. A bunch of long meetings, didn’t get a laptop until 2, and then couldn’t login anyway. So I really just hung out in the office for 8 hours.

I could see this job being alright as long as the day to day doesn’t suck. I have a feeling it may be alright but I’ll just have to give it more time

My Monday is going to be Wednesday and I’m mildly dreading it - even though I was back last week for two days it’s like they never happened.

What I’m dreading more is getting myself ready for uni fieldwork and writing up parts of the paper… brain has totally switched off from that.
