In Yugoslavia each country had it’s stereotypes. Slovenian men (especially from urban Ljubljana) were seen as feminine and weak when compared to other Yugoslavian countries where the “machizmo culture” prevaled. They had office jobs, higher education, more emphasis on fashion and spoke in a soft, gentle manner. This is most certainly a result of our Austro-Hungarian past which made Slovenia a lot more developed than other Yugoslavian nations.
So then r/balkans_irl made us into femboys which one could see as the modernized version of the past sterotype coming into fruition.

Pretty hilarious that more development was equated with feminine traits. Makes no sense.
It’s the same ideology as the alpha/beta male stuff I guess
it’s funny how there’s this kind of meme for every eastern-european contry. It’s not funny that i live in one, but still yet to meet a cute feminine boy:(
