These leaks raise questions about what Activision is doing to protect its employees, and what action it will take against the person or persons who shared the screenshots if they work for the company. The company’s publicly-posted diversity policy promises it will create “safe spaces to build community” at the studio. The continued leaking of employee messages raises concerns over if that promise is being kept.

Game Developer has reached out to Activision Blizzard and parent company Microsoft for comment on this story and will update it when a response is issued.

I expect the response will be vague, corporate, and effectively meaningless.

As usual, never discuss personal stuff like visa status changes on a work forum, which you may as well assume is public. Slack’s privacy begins and ends outside of DMs.

These platforms are built for bosses to snoop on workers, so the same can inevitably be done by fascists.

Nothing you write is private because someone can just screenshot and post it. Idk what that has to do with anything though. If I don’t see my coworkers a ton and want to advocate for marginalized people at work I would hope the company would ensure practices to not get me doxxed by my coworker on the company forum

I suppose you’re right. Advocating for your colleagues should still be protected in those public forums even if you’re careful to protect any personal info.

At least with going direct to coworkers you can do a bit more to personally vet who you share sensitive info with.
