When I was learning Spanish, we would be taught how to say prayers, without yet knowing all the words of those prayers. In many cases it was 2 or more years before we learned some of those words.
Is the root of “subhan-allah” s-b-7, and is the form x-x-x-A-N accurate to what is going on, and what does it convey?
Yes the pattern is فُعلان.
So سُبحان is a cognate accusative, and usually the verb itself is omitted.
