I’m short so I got them from Uniqlo since you can get it altered to have a lower inseam

I am overwhelmed by the amounts of pants styles and fits out there

I got the straight jeans since they seemed like the normal option idk

Learning to hem it myself would would rad. Wasn’t sure if a tailor would be expensive

I got the selvedge demin jeans from Uniqlo. They were $50 and seemed to have good reviews. Is that the same as raw denim?

Normal person answer: Yeah, more or less. I’ve heard good things about those ones, so I hope you enjoy them!

There’s a lot of fuss about washing jeans, but what I do is: turn inside out, machine wash cold with low spin. Promptly remove and hang dry.

Annoying person answer: “raw denim” and “selvedge denim” refer to two different things that often overlap.

Selvedge denim refers to the self-finished edges on the fabric. It’s a more expensive process, but weird nerds get excited about it. If you cuff the pants, you’ll see the white finished ends of the fabric.

Raw denim refers to the material being untreated and unwashed. They make non-selvedge raw denim (like this) but it’s uncommon. Usually people who are into fancy denim enough to care about raw denim will want it to be selvedge.

Uh-oh. Sounds like you caught the bug for it lol.

although I think they got some indigo dye on my shoe which is kind of funny

Yeah, they’ll rub indigo (sulfur for black ones) on stuff like shoes and belts. Be careful with light furniture (especially if your pants are wet).

I’m guilty of sometimes watching their videos they make with the people that work in their office and wearhouse lol.

I usually wait until I start wearing holes into my newest pair before getting new ones. My partner usually doesn’t let me get much further than that before she starts insisting that I get new pants lol
