Is this NPR who were just threatened with having the plug pulled ?
They could take away all of NPRs state funding and it wouldn’t even have to drop a single show from its lineup.
In 2020, NPR claimed to only get 4% from government funding, but 29% from corporations and foundations. I can’t seem to find more recent statistics.
The intent of those corporations and foundations, might have a larger weight on their editorial line.

Corporate media failing us once again legitimatizing incompetent politicians. Read your local news outlets instead!
why are rhey so eager to sck up when he wants them gone? it makes no sense
The actual NPR article: Can Trump’s 2nd act work for the working class while giving back to his super donors?
I hate to do this, but: Betteridge’s law of headlines
Taking note from other dictatorial states, it could be in line with:
- “Rude night-time drone attacks on Moscow”
- “Chinese citizens begging the administration”
- “Russian citizens begging Putin for help in oil spill disaster”
- “Woman screaming at an apple in Hong Kong”
…and similar veiled critic presented as a “Plea to the King”.
‘May’. Or ‘may not’
Thats pretty much what the NPR article says, the only populist interests he takes action on that might slightly conflict with billionaires interests is H1B visas:
There was friction over H1-B work visas that Trump’s core populists consider anathema but that his backers in the tech world depend on. It was a battle between the Bannon and Musk wings of Trump’s movement.
But that’s also the only sort of populist interest his bigoted voters care about apparently.
so like, they’re just admitting that he doesn’t give a fuck about the working class? that’s almost impressive
