Eh. I got into way too many arguments about the movie when I still browsed r/horror.
What’s “the point” Skinamarink if not to just be 1.5hr of mood building? The narrative is paper-thin and could probably be written entirely in two sentences.
If it could be cut down to 45 minutes, why not 20 minutes? Or 5 minutes on YT? I think it’s longer-than-it-could-be runtime works to its favor and it really needs that time padding to put you in that kind of dreamy, uneasy trance state that it’s going for.
