    Cool project! I’ve made a jig to do this that’s so much simpler. It’s the same thing as a circular saw jig. I just clamp it onto where I want a dado

        Okay I have the jig clamped to a board here. I use a bit with a 3/4” diameter. If I run it down the length of this jig it will cut a 3/4” dado. So to make the jig I glued a piece of 1/4” plywood onto a wider piece of 1/4” plywood. Then I used a 3/4” router bit to cut through the wider piece by running it against the glued on upper piece.

        So wherever I clamp this jig is exactly where my 3/4” dado will go

          Yes, thanks! I have clamped one piece to guide my router before, but using two would be much easier since it eliminates the need to measure the offset to the “far” stop every time. Clever!
