Agreed. I’m so tired of every single light pole, electrical equipment, and wall being covered in ugly stickers (most often about football in some way).
I think I actually prefer conventional ink based vandalism like tagging. At least it takes some effort and the municipality will likely remove it eventually.
I love stickers, grafitti, murals, posters, street art and everything making the world a bit less grey and depressing and boring (except for ads, they should be outlawed, fuck ads). And you can always put a nice sticker on top of any fasch-terf-conspiracy bs.
I have nothing against actual art. But stickers have the opposite effect on me.
I prefer a grey clean light pole any day over a light pole covered in stickers and sticker residue. It just looks like litter to me.
Also people put up stickers on anything. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the middle of the greenest and most colourful forest in the world.
My world isn’t that depressing so I don’t feel the need to put ugly, poorly designed, stupid stickers on everything.
