if the people in eastern ukraine want to have independence from the government in kiew, or be a part of russia even, why not just let them? there’s an UN-enshrined imprtant right to self-determination.
The proper and correct thing to do would have been to ask the people in eastern ukraine what they want in February 2022 via an UN-organized popular vote.

Let’s go to every part of Russia and ask if they want to be part of Russia. It’s only fair.
If those parts was bombed by Russian military: why not?
Wouldn’t the correct and proper thing be to invade them first and ask after? Just trying to make sure we’re all using the same yardstick
