The racism and transphobia dropped majorly when I came on, up to and including instabans and heavily edited automod rules to remove 90% of the content that was previously being posted which broke the subs rules (including the aforementioned content, agenda posting, and more)
I left reddit a few months back, and I couldn’t tell you one way or another where things went after that.
I can’t claim I handled it all, of course. There was one other majorly active mod, though I won’t name them. And I don’t claim we were able to remove all of the content, since we could only remove what was reported or that we ourselves saw.
I’m happy to talk more on modding that community if you like. It was an experience, to say the least. The number of ways people got around the automod rules was infuriating.
While I can’t comment on the original intent behind the name, what I took it as, and how I moderated, was simply to showcase humans being bad. The religious aspect was more satirical in nature. Especially considering the amount of “priest/catholicism/pastor” content that was posted, much of it by myself.
There was no calling for death, or even threatening of violence allowed. Even a hint of it was removed, since it wasn’t meant to be a place to threaten people or call for their deaths.
The alternative is to pretend the world is perfect and no one has anything to worry about, which is just a falsehood.
Think of the community more like the antithesis of r/humansbeingbros
That? Easy.

Believe what you want, I’m telling you how I moderated. If you believe otherwise, that ain’t on me.

Let’s change topic to something else, shall we? We’ve already been over this, and talking about it more won’t accomplish anything.

K bye
Gtfo with that misanthropy shit
I don’t dislike humankind. I doubt I’d be online if I did, in fact I’d likely be off living in the woods.
