In 2018 this missionary tried to meet with the last tribe without contact with the outside world despite many warnings. He was killed as soon as he reached shore.
Reading the comments, I thought, “it can’t be that bad. Lemmy’s ocerreacting.” I figured, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and read what happened.
It took one fucking sentence and knew I was in the wrong. And it gets worse. I decided to keep on reading. Mistakes were made. What was he thinking? Why did I read on!?!
I remember this story, it was a good FAFO kind of situation, which didn’t cause any harm beyond his own death. Heeding those warnings would’ve been the wisest course of action!
He might have brought in bacteria and viruses, but I get your point
Certainly, I forgot about the microbial life that people harbor on their bodies! It does depend on if the natives left the body alone or handled it after killing him; or gathered food in the immediate area during the process of decay. 🫢
Darwinism in action. Also he apparently got dissed by the tribe themselves, they were likely insulting him and laughed when he tried repeating the insults lol.
Chau was awarded the 2018 Darwin Award, a tongue-in-cheek honor that awards various people for dying or sterilising themselves in manners considered to be stupid
You’re not wrong
https://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2018-13.html Now thats funny!
That was a really fun rabbit hole to explore regarding this specific tribe! Found this YouTube video regarding multiple native tribes in the region: warning nonsexual nudity
This guy 🙄. He almost defies belief.
