Just to understand your point here:
Rule 1 only allows links to “real news sources”
The source is the personal blog of an canadian author.
Is your criticism just about the Action they took or in general for taking Action here?
Nah, when it comes to .ml admin removals when they say Rule 1 or Rule 2 they’re not referencing comm rules, they’re referencing instance rules (very rarely will you see an actual mod modding)
Rule 1 is “officially” No bigotry and Rule 2 is “officially” be respectful, however unofficially they use them as catch-alls for any speech they don’t like. Eg speech critical of China, Russia, NK or speech that calls out misinfo or propaganda from those regimes
This post is more evidence of their censorship of speech they don’t like, this comm has plenty of other posts if you’d like to review further evidence of their censorship and the kind of propaganda outlets they allow to further their tankie agenda
The original blog post referenced is known to be a pro-Russia Misinfo spreader, and is covered on another post here
I don’t get it. This is a community Action, executed by a Moderator of the community and, based on the rules of the community and the Post content completely legit.
So, wehre does this proof anything besides an obvious Bias.
This waters done the highly appropriate criticism of .ml
No, this was done by the instance admin for censorship in the name of furthering the political agenda of Russia. They’re not a mod of the comm and the comm did not take this action. Rule 1 referenced in the modlog is not referencing the comm rules, but the instance wide rule of lemmy.ml (even if it was, a blog post is not a “real news source”, but it’s allowed to stay because it further their pro-Russia/pro-Putin agenda)
The blog post is spreading misinformation by an journalist known to do so, the comment that was removed was critical of it.
These are the actual mods of that comm:
Oh boy, I was confused. Sry, mixed up the comment and the post itself …
