China just said that the 90 day pause is a step in correcting the tariff “mistake”. They are goading trump into lashing out. Don’t have to beat america when trump is doing it for them
They will win. Because they plan long term. The US. Our plans. Our entire economy can only see to the next quarter. We don’t plan long term. Because it’s outside of our scope. Our entire civilization is only 250 years old. China has the longest continually recorded history on the planet known as Earth. We plan in months to years. They plan in decades to centuries. And that’s why they will win.
Also, every new generation of Chinese leadership builds on those who came before. It’s a constant evolution of ideas and motivations. Deng thought Mao got a lot wrong. Those that followed Deng thought the same of him. Each new generation builds and improves on what came before. An uninterrupted forward march of progress. Mao loved this. Its exactly what he wanted. Xi was in Mao’s circle as a child. A continuation of that legacy.
Our politicians can’t even conceive of this kind of thinking. And it’s why China has been 3 steps ahead at every turn. It’s why they are now the indomitable industrial powerhouse they are. And it’s why they will win.
