Love all the “the left doesn’t actually care about genocide” takes, they can’t process that there are people out there that are earnest in their desire to end the suffering of the repressed and don’t just take that position superficially for short term triangulation.
It’s even more annoying because it’s a strawman built on a strawman built on a strawman.
They incorrectly assume leftists are only interested in making democrats lose. They can’t imagine a scenario where anyone is to the left of Democrats, so we have to be Russian trolls. That’s two layers. If we are trying to make democrats lose, and we are Russian trolls, that makes us uncaring orcs who are using a genocide (that they took two years to even admit was happening) to dismantle their party.
Occams razor says they aren’t popular and lose of their own volition. They can’t be wrong. It has to be a vast, unprovable conspiracy where the only good guys are democrats.
The Dems are literally saying they need to ditch their support for trans people (as limited and performative their support was in the first place).

i wish i could understand why it’s easier to blame politically impotent leftists than the politically powerful parties that have been refusing to implement the equal rights amendment that would provide these sorts of protections.
Because correctly realizing that liberals are at fault and have been fascist goons would require the self crit that would also reflect on their continued support from the person (who is also likely a lib) performing it.

Because shaming leftists feels approachable to them. It might not have a great success rate but it happens sometimes. Getting the democrats to not suck shit would run them headlong into the reality that the party doesn’t give a fuck what their members think or want. That’s a depressing and scary prospect for people who’ve drunk the nationalistic kool-aid of American “democracy,” so they resort to hippie punching as a coping mechanism.

How come none of these kinds of videos pointed out that we could have just had a Dem candidate that believed in the things from the first part of the video that also supported Palestinians? The only reason we didn’t is because the Dems suck. They barely had a primary, with no debates and basically no one but Biden on the ballot and some states didn’t even have that, and then switched candidates after the primary to make even that farce of one moot.
