Lemmy is a place where anyone can share any opinion freely.
Well, free from legal trouble. But I have seen lots of people banned from places on Lemmy, and outright bullied, for being third party advocates. Especially before the election. And the amount of people who throw around words like “Nazi!” and “Fascist” for even minor disagreements is pretty telling.
And the Lemmy community has seemly decided that they do not want or like conservative ideas.
Which would be fine in and of itself, but the amount of bullying I see here on conservatives is pretty toxic. I, myself, have been subject to this in addition to stalking.
Does this not weigh on your conscious? That you’re choosing to be a mouth piece of this regime?
I didn’t write the articles. I don’t even post the articles. I post links to the articles. From websites that have far far greater viewership than tiny Lemmy. No one has to read the articles (in fact, most come here do not).
Think about it this way: Most of Lemmy is very anti-conservative anyway, so their mind won’t be changed by the articles, or by seeing a conservative article. The few who are conservative, already agree with the article, so no minds changed. And I don’t think there is a single Lemmy user that is “undecided” and would be swayed by any article posted in a conservative community unless they were inclined to be conservative.
So again, no minds are being changed. I am under no illusion that minds would be changed. So what would weigh on my conscious? People are allowed to make their own choices anyway, so there is nothing to weight down my conscious.
The websites I post from have many many more viewers than Lemmy, so I’m not adding any traffic. So how would I be a mouth piecs of this regime if few even see the links, and even fewer would click on them?
And I’ve also posted articles critical of conservatives and critical of Trump. What do I have to be guilty about?! If someone so weak that they can’t make educated decisions themselves, that’s on them. Not me.
You realize that Lemmy has less than 100K members, right?! There are subs on Reddit that have more eyes than there are members on Lemmy. lol
If the goal isn’t to change minds or balance the voices and opinions on Lemmy.
And you admittedly aren’t a conservative wanting a community since you do seem to have a community you’d rather participate in that is actively contradictory.
You don’t agree with the articles. You don’t believe you’re adding to the articles viewer ship. In fact the only thing that this sub seems to do is attract angry people from the all feed who assume you think these opinion pieces are good hence why you’re sharing and then call you a fascist when the article has fascist aligned ideas. The only thing that seems to do is confirm your belief that third party voters are called fascists and Nazis. You’ve even taken the handle of the two men who are participating in the rounding up of US citizens and residents to a forced labor concentration camp.

I’m a third party voter myself. I don’t vote libertarian because I don’t think they want to solve the problems I’m worried about, but I do agree a more diverse election options would be better. That seems to be your biggest concern and I don’t see how being a mouth piece of an establishment party helps. Sure you’re not a good one, but you’re still a mouthpiece.
