China is Iran’s largest partner for the past decade with Iran supplying China with access to Iranian oil from the Hormuz strait. China helped construct the strait in 2005 which was a massive investment for both countries.

On the morning of Sunday the 22nd of June, China’s Xi condemned president Trump’s bombing campaign saying that the bombing is “personal” due to the close relationship with Iran. “Peace negotiations weren’t possible during an attack by Israel… this was a coordinated attack between the US and Israel to promote a regime change in the country and to destabilize the region” Xi said in the morning speech.

Analysts are “shocked” by what they say is the most straightforward and direct speech from China in recent history after Xi accused both Israel and the US of destabilization which the president hasn’t done before. Political analyst Mark Merton from Horwini news says “this is China sounding the alarm for a potential world wide conflict” and that “China and US relations have become so tense that this could lead to a deeper crisis between both powers.”
