Where else are you a lot?
Working from home. Have yet to find a second place.
Dude same.
Hockey rink. I play 2 nights a week. There’s a solid community there. Also, the pizza place/bar around the corner. Our neighbors and friends are always there. I can just pop in and talk to whoever is there about the neighborhood.
Library (the best indoor 3rd place of all time), and outdoors.
Outside. Every single day, I’ll be walking. Sometimes to go to some specific place, often just to go out and have a nice long walk.
What kind of places do you like to walk in?
Anywhere I can go that’s at walking distance (do errands, go to appointments, expo, friends,…) and, like I said, to nowhere in particular just for the enjoyment of going out and walk, wandering in the city (or wherever I happen to be when I’m not home).
It’s also a great way to get surprised and to discover places and meet people you probably would not otherwise ;)
The funny thing is that a few years ago I was chronically (and severely) ill, like in a real real bad shape and I was also severely obese. No exaggerating, I could barely walk a few steps outside of my home without needing the entire day to rest. I decided I had enough of that shit and started to walk daily. I started slow (not much choice here) walking a few steps, but I did it everyday, without worrying about the shame of being frowned upon by people, then I started doing it twice a day, then even more. And I gently started walking for longer sessions too. Nowadays, if I’m still chronically ill (and that won’t get away) I lost a shit ton of weight and I feel so much better despite that illness. And I will feel bad, if I don’t go out at least for a little walk ;)
Based asf, i love to walk too. One of the things i love the most is going in a city i’ve never been before or i barely know and just lose myself between its streets and discover new cool places and nice views.
One of the things i love the most is going in a city i’ve never been before or i barrly know and just lose myself
100%. Note that one can also do that in a city they know: there is a lot of streets and spots to visit ;)
Absolutely, finding new spots in a city you’ve lived for years is very satisfactory :)
The gym. It does help that it is just a regular sport organisation that instead of sportball does group training and gym. So non-profit and volunteers. Awesome!
Don’t really have one at all.
I’m kinda antisocial in most days to begin with, and I’m not fond of the typical public spaces because of that.
The closest I have is my best friend’s house. And that’s essentially just a different home. It is one of the very few places other than my own home that I’m really comfortable, where my head isn’t on swivel constantly.
I don’t know if this is the kind of answer you’re looking for but for us, it ends up being spaces online like chats, streams, and VRChat. It’s kind of the only times and place where we actually get to exist as we’re meant to. - Tabi (ey/it)
Honestly I don’t have one. The place I hang out at most is also where I work, the bar. Other than that, there is very little to do around here, especially considering I’m not an outdoorsy person to begin with.
The open road. Not as often as I’d like these days.
The garden or the forest.
It used to be the pub, but now I just wander. I walk around 5 miles every day, but on weekends I’ll sometimes walk up to 15 a day. Just stick an audiobook on, leave my flat, pick a cardinal direction and walk until my legs hurt.
I’d say both equally a espresso bar and the library.
My car.
I have a mobile business, and when I’m not at home, I’m doing just about everything else in my car, which is a lot of hours in a day.
I work, eat, and take naps in my car. Fortunately I get to sleep overnight at home.
