I can’t fathom what the hell are the justifications that people will fabricate to keep themselves there.
Even the Green Party leader Elizabeth May says she is reluctant to move over because she is worried about losing her 303k followers. So it largely boils down to big numbers good!

they (ATProto - the protocol used on Blueasky) are working towards it with people from outside and pitching projects/ideas towards that in ATProto conferences
ATProto and ActivityPub “done right” might actually converge to the same thing
i wouldn’t expect it to happen anytime soon though its nice there are Fediverse platforms like Friendica that can communicate with BlueSky meanwhile
now in regard to Meredith Whittaker i couldnt find nor ever heard of such thing being said

why isn’t there a EU petition for government officials to leave it anyway? all i could find was this https://petitions.assemblee-nationale.fr/initiatives/i-2610 but more from searching than others spreading the word about it
also my issue with Mastodon is not having proper formatting going both sides, Friendica by default uses BBCode but for being customizable theres an addon a lot of people use to support Markdown code too, mbin works fine and support microblogs/threadiverse, posts from Lemmy and PieFed is shown only link and title on Mastodon but it displays title and content properly if its from Friendica/mbin/other microblogging supported platforms
i say they shall go to Mastodon for funding it (they get funds from the EU) otherwise i wish they would go to Friendica instead, they are already on BlueSky (not the politicians though, only few probably) btw
Less than six thousand support. I think it boils down to not that many people at the end of the day care all that much. There was hello quit x that tried to build momentum but it never really took off
