I imagine that these types will be able to do a lot of day to day manual labour and I can see how these can be adapted to doing stuff like household chores. The price is low enough to be consumer affordable already, and now it’s mainly a matter of improving the software to make them more capable. Some practical uses are starting to show up already.

Can someone please explain to me how being worried that a technology will be used to violent racist ends (in a world where technology is constantly being used to violent racist ends) is a violation of rule 2: bigotry? wtf?

It might’ve been taken as parroting Uyghur genocide ethnic cleansing “cultural suppression” myth.

Yeah, I didn’t see this was Chinese tech, assumed it was US or at least western. I even watched the video but just saw a demonstration set to music. I noticed the article was Bloomberg at a glance but I missed “china’s-unitree” part in the url and with a title that included “Starting at $5,900” it seemed like this was a robot catering to a US market. So no, my comment had nothing to do with the fake Zenz-invented Uyghur genocide nonsense (I’ve posted in the past correcting libs about this). I was referring to how robotic technology is being/going to be used by cops especially in the US. But now I’m in the modlog for bigotry. Great.

(Thank you for explaining what happened, though.)
