Honestly? This episode was a bit of a miss for me.

I always like when an actor tries new accents. Sometimes it’s a swing and a miss, but I will reward risks.

I’m not thrilled by the amount of meta they packed in. We get it. TOS was canceled.
Obvious outlandish twist is obvious.
The holodeck doppelgangers were hard to connect with or remember their quirks.
Spock doesn’t need a romantic relationship.
The non sequitur in medias res cold open.
Oh no! If you die in the holodeck, you die in real life. I’d love to see a Groundhogs day style holodeck episode where the characters are functionally immortal.
