I’ve been playing around with Japanese Maples recently. I’ve grown a bunch from seed in all sorts of different mediums, transplanted some from outside into containers, and recently took cuttings from the more interesting looking trees to try and propagate. I was shuffling some things around on one of my grow racks today and noticed several of the cuttings have rooted already! Hurray!
Now to figure out where they’re all going to go…
I love these weird slug roots, nature fuckin rules.
Awesome! Clonex or the like, or all natural?

A bit of both just to compare the two. It didn’t seem to make much of a difference tbh. The rooting hormone I have is some powdered stuff I bought forever ago but I’ve always had good luck with it. There were cuttings dipped in that and put in distilled water, dipped and put in tap water, and some that were just cut and stuck into tap water or a nutrient solution mix I use for other plants. Everything rooted to some degree already which really surprised me. Now I can make even more little Maple forests.
Badass!!! I have some big leaf maples I want to propagate so this is great news
