I ask because I own a copy of Avalon Hill’s “Class Struggle” board game and have been diving into the rules and gameplay. It’s actually a lot of fun. I’m not savvy enough to create a website where people could play it, but I think I could figure out Tabletop Simulator and make a version for that. But by now TTS seems pretty old, do people still use it?

(I think the potential user base for this game is small so I’m not really worried about Hasbro getting it taken down).

i hear about it from time to time. that “every uno version ever” guy says he’s making a tabletop sim of his amalgam. no idea what the community of randos is like, i would only ever use it with people i already knew.

yeah it still has players for sure you can check out the player count here: https://steamcharts.com/app/286160

it’s certainly old and there have been quite a few competitors but i don’t know any other software that has this many board games supported. granted im not a huge boardgame fan so there might be something new that’s unknown to most people. i say keep an eye out but most likely TTS is the best choice.

A decent sized population uses it for playing Warhammer (and possibly other wargames), and I also occasionally use it to play a variety of boardgames on game nights with my friends where we can’t decide on a video game to play.

yep, a lot of people use it for wargaming, magic, random boardgames, ttrpgs etc.
in my experience the tts mod is usually on par with or better than the dedicated program for the game tbh
