As an Australian, this is me, every time a film goes to a South American or southeast Asian jungle (WARNING: TV Tropes link).
It almost sounds like a Gremlin ! I love it.
This stand up bit always comes to mind.
Obviously there’s a zoo right around the corner from where the scene takes place.
