I thought this was going to be about cable TV being unwatchable due to ads. Instead it’s some old guy bitching about people having choices and sharing passwords.
These dinosaurs are used to cable tv, where the ratio of ads and mediocre content is 50/50. If anything, they think there should be more ads.
David Zaslav is a terrible consumer experience.
“The marketplace is really challenged with too many players in the market,” Zaslav said. “When people turn on — the consumers put on their TV, it’s a terrible consumer experience. In almost every market in the world, there’s just way too many choices. And you’re googling, ‘Where is it? How do I get from one to the other? How do I get into that platform?’”
lol the problem is on their faces and they can’t see it.
Too many choices is not a problem, just like a monopoly is not a solution. Exclusivity deals are the problem. If most content was cross platform, this wouldn’t be so awful like it is today.
They’re reaping what they sowed.
Well, that, or participate in ways to discover shows. Netflix stubbornly refuses to be included in AppleTV’s search function.
Apparently it’s not difficult to do since they accidentally submitted a version of their app with it enabled.
Says the guy that single-handedly MADE it a terrible experience
“The situation is bad because I don’t have a monopoly. People should give me a monopoly so that I can improve their experience!”
This was infuriating to read. Complains about how bad things are, then starts talking about things they are doing to actively make the user experience worse
Always has been
And who helped make it that way, fuckface mcgee?
Animation hating piece of shit.
Yeah too much brainwashing and capitalism
