Hello, dear cousins.

A Brit here, checking in.

I imagined that I would begin a post to Americans admonishing or lambasting you all, but I’ve followed this movement since the beginning. I know that you bear little to no blame and are as devastated as I am, likely moreso, by your countries descent into authoritarianism.

I message you, as it would appear we are balls deep comitted to following you down this path.

I am seeking a bit of help from people more learned than I. History, politics, and especially geopolitics are my inner nerd subjects. Ive spent quite a considerable amount of time studying them (in an amateur enthusiast sense). I have seen the trump (I’ll withhold the capital) vs. Project 2025 timeline mapping, and my hope is that if one hasn’t been done yet, to map out the current actions of your government with the early/pre-war years of the nazi party.

I would like to draw parallels between the likes of the Reichstag fire and the recent assasination/recent Ice incident. The false flags like inscribed bullets, and Poland’s supposed attack on Germany. The systematic erosion of personal freedoms.

You have so much going on yourselves, that you likely aren’t overly aware of what is happening here. There are some, so many im this country essentially mobilising to form our MAGA-lite. Flags hanging from every lamppost (honestly, an utterly cringe concept to many here and one that we have historically mocked you for). The media is screaming, look at the boats, look at the boats, immigrants, brown people, look at them!!! I thought we were smarter than to fall for this. We are not.

The insane irony in the people screaming the loudest about this tend to be the flag-shagging, gammon tinted, spitfire/Churchill loving, British bulldog tattoo on the backs of their heads, our finest moment (standing up to Fascism until you lot joined in) crowd and now, seemingly unknowingly, becoming the largest shills for the ideology that our grandparents fought and gave their lives to fight.

If a timeline could be established, to show that we are speed running 1933-1939 could be established, maybe, just maybe, this could help to sway some of their thinking towards sense.

I can’t post this in any UK sub. I would be hesitant to post it in r/Politics. I feel safe posting it here.

If anybody could signpost me to any existing comparison (I’m yet to find), or has both the knowledge of history and current events to help guide me in this. I, and many others like me, would be greatly indebted to you.

Before I sign off, I would like to thank you all, sincerely, with all the love and heart that I posses. I am, frankly, really quite scared by where we all seem to be heading. This sub has been a bit of a beacon of hope and positivity for me, and you all mean a great deal to me for that.
