      Note to readers: amongst other corporate affiliations, Mike Kuiken sits on the Advisory Board of Sayari[1], a data intelligence and risk analysis company. They market themselves as a KYC-for-supply-chains tool, giving visibility into ownership and sourcing.

      The author’s argument could be sincere and worthy of consideration, but he’s advocating “know your chip” regulations that would mandate exactly the kind of service Sayari sells. Kuiken’s corporate roles should at least be mentioned in FT’s author bio. Readers can decide for themselves if there’s a conflict of interest and if this matters to the argument.
