So I was thinking about how PeerTube works with ActivityPub (aka the Fediverse - Mastodon, Pixelfed, Lemmy, etc.), and it makes me wonder why Odysee hasn’t tried something similar.

For example, if you upload to PeerTube, people on Mastodon can follow your channel, see your uploads in their feed, comment on them, boost them, etc. It connects Peer Tube to this huge decentralized network instead of keeping it isolated.

NOSTR (Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays) is kind of like a simpler, lighter version of that idea. It’s censorship-resistant, super easy to use across apps (Damus, Amethyst, Iris, etc.), and you only need one key to interact with the entire network. Post something on one client, it shows up everywhere else.

Imagine if Odysee videos could:

Auto-broadcast to NOSTR so they show up on different clients.

Use NOSTR pubkeys as a kind of universal identity / creator verification.

Even pull in NOSTR comments as an optional comment layer.

Tie into NOSTR’s boosts (zaps/tips) system, alongside Odysee’s own crypto tipping - so creators get more options for support.

Odysee already has the “decentralization” vibe with LBRY, but right now it’s kinda in its own bubble. NOSTR could help connect it to a much wider ecosystem without being tied to the Fediverse specifically.

Odysee could even potentially become the NOSTR equivalent / alternative to The Fediverse’s Peertube.

Curious what you all think - would NOSTR integration make sense for Odysee, or nah?
