OK, trans community â itâs truth time. One of the biggest differences between the way women are treated and the way that yâall are treated is that yâall are allowed to have safe spaces. Youâre allowed to have subreddits that are trans-only, places and events that are just for you. Weâre not.
When I tried to start a subreddit for female humans, for example (including the ones who identify as men) so that we had a place to talk about female things, it lasted less than a week, and the admins performed a delicate little dance before banning us for âhate.â They temp-banned me and all my mods, then banned the whole community because we werenât able to take down the anti-trans posts that were clearly against our rules - and that didnât appear until after we were tempbanned. Hmm.
Women get nothing: not subreddits, not dating apps, not even an app for women in general. No bathrooms, no changing rooms, no sports of our own; hell, we canât even get away from yâall in prison! Any female-only event yâall get to hearing about is targeted by protesters, often violent ones, invariably carrying signs threatening harm or encouraging suicide â lovely behavior from people who constantly quote trans suicide statistics as if itâs the biggest crisis on the planet, btw.
Any womenâs shelter or rape crisis center that is female-only is also targeted: the sole remaining womenâs rape crisis center in all of Canada has been repeatedly vandalized with threatening graffiti, and even had a dead rat nailed to its door. This, in a city with 6 other rape counseling centers available, all of them trans-friendly. Itâs not about being denied access to services â itâs sick, twisted, furious hatred at even the idea of women having anything of our own.
You have taken it all: our spaces, our sports, and our safety. Youâve taken our privacy, our dignity, our right to single-sex incarceration, and our right to single-sex intimate care. Youâve taken our identities, and the words we use to name ourselves.
You want us to agree that being female means nothing, is nothing, deserves nothing - no recognition, no separate existence â not even a name. We are âuterus-havers,â âmenstruators,â âbleeders,â and âpeople with cervixes.â âWomenâ belongs to you now, and youâre even coming for âfemale.â

Everyone should get a space, and everyone can join multiple spaces. I honestly donât see an issue with that, provided none of them spread hate against the others.

They can try to get a space only for âfemale assigned at birthâ people all they want, but I donât think normal women, regardless of their trans/cis status, would be interested in participating in a place that isnât accepting of all women. I dunno, it seems weird to me to segregate groups by gender. Remember that subreddit where you had to send in a picture of your skin color for approval? Having a space themed around a certain type of issue makes more sense to me.

Yeah, as a man, I donât need or want a male-only community, I much more align with hobbies and interests than gender identity, sexual orientation, or what my chromosomes are.

There are women only subreddit and spaces absolutely everywhere. Gyms, trains, bars etc. Itâs a good thing. Give women the space they want to be safe and among other women. I believe men should get the same options, where applicable. Everyone just needs their own place to feel accepted and comfortable, thatâs a right we all deserve, every one of us, regardless of sex, gender, sexuality, age, whatever.
I imagine these TERFs were banned for incredibly transphobic hate speech (like they knew they would be) and used that as a tool to cry discrimination. Itâs a common tactic from the right; knowingingly break the rules in a way thatâll allow you to cry discrimination.
Transwomen are female, I will never understand why they donât get that.
