“Ugh, I’m hungry, should I order now?”
Okay, ordering a Jumbo doner!
“Siri, stop”
“Stop”
“Stop the transaction”
16 dollars have been taken out of your account. Have a nice meal!
“Stop”
“A $25 cancellation fee has been assessed.”
im letting my prime expire this week (which is now possible since amazon lost that court case recently) and haven’t really been watching prime video hardly at all for months, but last night i watched something on there.
the ad system is much crazier than i remember. like theres a bunch of ads, of course, yadda yadda, but now all the ads have an interactive panel where if you push the main button on your remote during them, it adds the product being advertised to your amazon cart. and if you pause the show, a similarly interactive ad fills the screen instantly.
ive been doing jellyfin primarily and of course, it’s like awesome, fast, and no ads. and its consistent, in that it doesn’t tweak the UX everyday to monetize more and more of my behaviors.
frankly, even the free streamer slop apps like tubi are less ad intrusive and the interface for browsing the library is less shitty than prime.
its legitimately insane how far these services have fallen in the last 6 months, and they were already shit back then.
Watched a friend of mine play an android game recently and the fucking ads are playable, you have to finish a game task to continue with the free game. Why have not seen anyone talk about this.
lmao, that sucks. eventually the “drink verification can” bit is like not even gonna be an exaggeration.
The fact that it’s believable and I looked it up…
This would make be throw my phone into a body of water.
