    What’s rather interesting is that the automotive industry lobbied for these changes to be made.

    Now they were made and the automotive industry is complaining that they cause the companies to lose money.

    Well, all the better for the environment, I guess. Less cars i traffic means less energy consumpted.

    To be fair cars have been subsidized a ton and should have been mostly phased out of major urban areas decades ago

    In Parable of the Sower, only the rich drive cars and those are basically armored vehicles… Which Octavia Butler predicted in 1993. Still on track for that I see.
