        These transgressions that happened in a manged controlled fashion to solve specific thorny problems … made it possible for a cynical opportunist to claim this happens all the time so we should own it.

        Exactly how corruption spreads in a society. The sense that everyone else is doing it and you’re a chump if you’re not.
