The following interaction just took place between me and the child (6F)
Cue the periodic beeping of a smoke detector needing fresh batteries.
The child: what is that?
Me: a beep
TC: what is the beep trying to tell us?
Me: it’s a reminder to beep
TC: BEEP!
Me: BEEP!
And so on and so forth for the next several minutes.
I was at a kids fire safety presentation.
The firefighter said “Hey kids, what does it mean when you hear the smoke detector?”
One kid, in before anyone else, " Dinner’s ready!"
Always be beeping
This needs to be on a 5 below t-shirt
Sadly, without a new battery in the smoke detector, the house burned down shortly after. (The detector was so busy beeping due to its low battery that nobody realized it started beeping because of smoke.)
There was a battery in there - how would it beep otherwise?
Wired with battery backup is a thing; those beep when the battery is low or missing
Yes - I believe it’s effectively required by law in most places nowadays so it has multiple sources of power to increase the odds of it working when needed.
You are correct.
Fixed.
The beeps are very different, so I’m afraid you’re fix doesn’t really work either.
It may not work for you and your child because you know the difference. However, it will work as a joke for other people because they will not know.
