I leave in a few days and I’m scared shitless, but also super excited! I’ll get to see my friend after a year apart, experience some cold weather, see snow and eat one of my favourite cuisines. Time to start packing.

BOM lied again - a gentle rain is falling. The garden is loving it after yesterday and this morning.
I drove two kids up kinglake rd towards humevale and it’s coming down up those hills. Not a heavy rainfall but it’s sweeping across the road like clouds of dust
just a light mist here.
My garden is jealous. I just had a look at the radar and the rain is making sure to stay away from Ballarat.
The one and only time it does so.
The new beaters arrived, so I had to make a test cake (which is now in the oven). They worked well, although Mr Woof was concerned about the noise of them hitting the side of the bowl and evacuated to the backyard for safety. But he does that for just about everything 🤣

Despite the clouds and sunscreen I do believe I copped a bit of colour. Was a nice morning for it. Got cajoled into the cold cold sea by one of the family younguns and it was lots of fun. Am tired. Time for book and early night.

Trip to the beach this morning was interrupted by another car trying to do a u-turn into mine. Thankfully no one was hurt, but my poor little Beastie car is messed up :( letting insurance deal with it, we’ll see whatever they decide.

Thank you! Genuinely not sure if insurance will pick write-off or repair, but whatever it is it is. If it’s write-off off, I’ll pick a cheaper car going forward! If repair, then may Kaelas (named after a character in my favourite book series) and I have many more adventures together! And overall may the person who turned into me not try and blame me and not make the same mistake!
Oh no! Glad you’re ok. Bad time of year for crash repairs, probably lots of places are closed. Hopefully you don’t have to wait too long.
Thankfully Boyo has a car and I can easily get lifts to work if need be. Not the end of the world but would love a quick answer all the same!

We did the new train stations today. If you’re looking for a nice morning out go to West Footscray station where you can catch the new trains straight through to all the stops, get off at ANZAC station so you can see at least one of them, then go across the road to the Kettle Black for something to eat.
I’ve been meaning to go there for years and it was worth the trip.
And then of course you jump on a train and head right back again
That is such a good idea! Every time I’ve driven past that cafe I’ve thought it would be lovely to go, but too hard to find a park to drive to.
Why is all the garlic so shit at the moment? Expensive and none of it dried properly. goes funky in record time.
weather went shit right when the bulbs were doing their final ripening. Fucked my harvest. I’m still aggro about it
Might be out of season? They only had imported one at my supermarket, agree it was shit.

Nice. The second one is my favourite, and I always like the ones that show repeating patterns, like the sand and mussels.
I like the mussels one a lot. I shoulda taken many more to get the right composition.
