I coded the first website for the place I worked in notepad. It looked a lot like this, minus the bright colors. Yes, I added a cookie icon link to explain cookies.
Yes, I had a Links page, because before search engines, the only way to find new sites was to either get the URL from a magazine, TV, or other such old-school media, or find a site on a links page. There needed to be a transition from old-school media to digital, and links pages were part of that transition.
I like how it doesn’t scale to my phone screen. I dunno, the old timeyness of it just feels refreshing.
