I’m always reminded of the scene in The newsroom, where they have the guy from the epa who essentially says it’s already too late to save us from climate oblivion. They wanted him to calm the message and played down the doom.

    That was from 2012.

Nothing has changed at all. Humans are rubbish at dealing with problems that are more than a year or so down the road.

      Yep! I thought something similar.

The Paris Accords were a decade ago. Anyone who is paying attention at all shouldn’t be surprised.

No no, they’ve now moved on to, “well fine, it’s real, but it’s too late and/or too expensive to do anything now”.

The US president and the GOP literally claim it’s a Chinese or democrat hoax. I don’t know what they believe in their heart, but their rhetoric is all denial.

So much so that Republicans are at this stage already:

      • That didn’t happen.
      • And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
      • And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
      • And if it is, that’s not my fault.
      • And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
      • And if I did, you deserved it.

We’ll get to “that’s not my fault” sooner than you think.
