Obviously they clicked the tongs.
We were made in God’s image, and we can’t explain rationally clicking tongs. Therefore, clicking tongs is divine, and so they would have clicked them.
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
TIL kissing a burning piece of coal cleans you of sin.

Isaiah 6 is actually one of the places in the Bible where angels get a description:
Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.
So: too many wings, no face, and we can’t tell whether this thing has feet.
It is only in Revelation and Ezekiel that anything is described as being covered in eyes. In Revelation (a pretty whacky book) they are described as “living creatures”, but some aspects of their description suggests they are supposed to be seraphim.
no face, and we can’t tell whether this thing has feet.
To me, the description implies that it does have a face and feet.
I mean the image doesn’t have a face or discernible feet!
The thing with the eyes, was that a form of “behave, we are watching you” to the believers?
